Research & administrative positions, work experience: Present – Deputy Director General (from 2016); Head, Department of Antarctic Geoscience (since 1993), Professor of Saint-Petersburg University (Institute of Earth Sciences). Previous (1981-1993) – junior research scientist, research scientist of Antarctic Geoscience Department (VNIIOkeangeologia). Participated in 2 onland and 6 marine Antarctic expeditions (in 5 Antarctic cruises - as the scientific advisor). Supervisor of Russian Earth Science Program in Antarctica on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. Principal author and co-author of more than 170 scientific papers and maps. Participation in and contribution to SCAR Scientific Research Programs ANTOSTRAT, ACE, PAIS, INSTANT and SCAR Projects SDLS, BEDMAP, IBCSO.
