Tao Zhang has long been engaged in Arctic seafloor geodynamics research, following the principle of advancing frontier scientific understanding through original technological innovation. His research focuses on the evolution of the Arctic Ocean lithosphere, with significant contributions to understanding the accretion processes of ultraslow-spreading mid-ocean ridges and the evolution of extinct spreading ridges. Over the past five years, Tao Zhang has published more than 30 SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author in leading journals, including Nature.
