Zhijun Li

Dr. Zhijun Li is an emeritus professor on ice physical and mechanical properties, ice engineering and polar technology at State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, China. He also service at Shihezi University, Xinjiang, China as a Distinguished professor under the “Tianchi Talents Plan”. He got his Science Master from Lanzhou Institute of Glaciology and Geocryology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1985. In 1997, he got his Ph D from Lanzhou Institute of Glaciology and Geocryology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 1985, he has studied the properties of sea ice, river ice, lake ice (reservoir ice) in China, EU countries and polar areas. His interests are ice physical and mechanical properties, ice engineering, physical modeling on ice-structure interactions, polar sciences and technology, and ecosystem under ice.
He serviced the committees of International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) and International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions (POAC). He also is/was Chair or Vice-chair of 3 Chinese committees on sea ice, fresh ice and cryosphere. At present, he is the edit board member for the following 6 Chinese journals, such as Journal of Glaciology and Geocryology (in Chinese)，Chinese Journal of Polar Research，Marine Science Bulletin (in Chinese)，Hydro Science and Cold Zone Engineering (in Chinese)，South-to-North Water Transfers and Water Science & Technology (in Chinese and English)，Journal of Marine Science and Application (in English) and two internation journals, that are Elsevier Cold Regions Science and Technology and MDPI Water. He has performed China National research projects over 15, and international mobility over 24. He published about 200 academic papers in English as author or co-author.
