Special Issue on Nanogenerators and Piezotronics for Self-Powered Systems (NGPT 2026)

Introduction:
The 8th International Conference on Nanogenerators and Piezotronics (NGPT 2026), held at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, brings together researchers in the fields of self-powered technologies, nanogenerators, piezotronics and intelligent electronic systems. This special issue presents selected contributions from NGPT 2026 covering recent advances in energy harvesting materials, flexible electronics, self-powered sensors and multifunctional devices. The collection highlights interdisciplinary research spanning materials engineering, device design and practical system integration for applications in healthcare, environmental monitoring, robotics and human–machine interfaces. Contributions from internationally recognised researchers and emerging scholars will provide a timely overview of current progress and future opportunities in nanogenerators and piezotronics. Particular attention is given to emerging strategies for improving efficiency, durability and multifunctionality in next-generation self-powered systems.
