Medicine Discovery: Call for Editorial Board Members

Medicine Discovery is now inviting applications to join the journal's Editorial Board. We seek to expand our board with accomplished scholars, clinicians, methodologists, and interdisciplinary researchers who are committed to advancing translational medical research and strengthening the peer review process.

Medicine Discovery is a peer-reviewed, international, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality translational medical research that bridges mechanistic discovery and clinical implementation. The journal aims to accelerate the transformation of biomedical insights into clinical practice by fostering collaboration across basic science, clinical medicine, engineering, data science, and implementation research.

We welcome applications from experts across all areas within the scope of Medicine Discovery, including but not limited to:

• Mechanisms and Systems Medicine, including disease biology, molecular and cellular mechanisms, tumor microenvironment, immunoregulation, metabolic reprogramming, host-pathogen interactions, multi-omics, single-cell technologies, and spatial biology.
• Translational and Clinical Research, including prospective clinical studies, real-world evidence, biomarker-driven research, patient stratification, precision medicine, multicenter validation, and studies that inform clinical practice or guideline development.
• Digital Medicine and Data-Driven Healthcare, including artificial intelligence, medical imaging, digital pathology, predictive modeling, clinical decision support, benchmarking, explainability, and real-world deployment of computational tools.
• Therapeutic Innovation and Biomedical Engineering, including innovative therapeutic strategies, medical devices, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and advanced drug delivery systems with clear translational potential.
• Methodology, Standards, and Implementation Science, including study design, statistical methods, reporting standards, reproducibility, data governance, health technology assessment, regulatory science, and healthcare system implementation.

Role and Expectations of Editorial Board Members

Successful candidates will serve an initial three-year term and will play an important role in the journal's academic growth, international visibility, and editorial quality. Key responsibilities include:

• Peer Review and Editorial Oversight: Act as a regular reviewer for manuscripts submitted to the journal, providing timely and constructive reviews for approximately three manuscripts per year, or recommending qualified reviewers when appropriate.
• Quality and Ethics: Help ensure the quality and soundness of published articles by considering scientific rigor, methodological validity, ethical standards, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and transparency in research reporting.
• Strategic Guidance: Provide suggestions to the Editors-in-Chief and Editorial Team on journal development, emerging research trends, editorial policy, special issues, thematic collections, and long-term strategic direction.
• Ambassadorship: Promote Medicine Discovery within professional networks, academic societies, conferences, and collaborative research communities to enhance the journal's visibility and attract high-quality submissions.
• Contribution to Journal Initiatives: Recommend timely topics, support special issues or invited collections when appropriate, and contribute to activities that strengthen the journal's academic influence.
• Community Engagement: Liaise with authors, Associate Editors, Editors-in-Chief, and the Publisher to support efficient peer review, responsible editorial decision-making, and the continued development of the journal.

Editorial Board members are encouraged to contribute their own work from time to time. All submissions from Editorial Board members will undergo the same rigorous peer review process and editorial scrutiny as all other manuscripts.

Candidate Profile

We seek accomplished scholars with strong publication records and expertise in clinical medicine, basic medicine, translational research, precision medicine, digital medicine, biomedical engineering, methodology, or related interdisciplinary fields. We also welcome applications from promising early-career researchers who have demonstrated strong academic potential, peer-review experience, and commitment to responsible scientific publishing.
