Medicine Discovery: Call for Papers & Global Young Editorial Board Recruitment

Medicine Discovery, an international English-language journal published by Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University in collaboration with KeAi Publishing, has officially launched. Dedicated to translational medicine, the journal aims to bridge the full translational chain from basic research to clinical application. The journal is now inviting submissions from researchers worldwide on an ongoing basis, while also recruiting young editorial board members globally.

1.  Journal Introduction

Medicine Discovery (ISSN: 3117-9282) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access English journal published by Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University in collaboration with KeAi Publishing. The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality translational medicine research, aiming to connect mechanistic discoveries with clinical applications, with a focus on the following translational pathways:

• Mechanism to Clinic — Translating basic research findings into clinical diagnostics and therapeutics
• Evidence to Implementation — Promoting the application of evidence-based findings in clinical practice
• Data to Practice — Converting data-driven research outcomes into actionable healthcare solutions

Advocating the principles of open science, the journal places emphasis on research reproducibility and clinical applicability. Drawing on the clinical expertise and extensive data resources of Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University in brain–computer interfaces, medical artificial intelligence, and other frontier fields, Medicine Discovery is positioned to advance collaborative translation across industry, academia, research, and clinical practice. The journal focuses on the complete translational chain from bench to bedside, promoting closer integration between basic research and clinical needs, and welcomes high-quality research with the potential to improve disease diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.

2.  Editors-in-Chief

The journal is co-edited by renowned experts from China and abroad, who bring extensive research and clinical experience to drive the journal toward becoming a high-impact translational medicine platform with both international vision and academic excellence.

3. Sections & Scope

The journal contains five formal sections (A–E), covering the major stages of translating medical discoveries into clinical practice. Researchers, clinicians, and medical innovation teams are cordially invited to submit their work:

• Section A: Mechanisms and Systems Medicine
• Section B: Translational and Clinical Research
• Section C: Digital Medicine and Data-Driven Healthcare
• Section D: Therapeutic Innovation and Biomedical Engineering
• Section E: Methodology, Standards, and Implementation Science

Article Types: Research Article, Review, Short Communication, Editorial, and Correspondence. We are particularly interested in original research that combines scientific depth with practical value and has the potential to genuinely improve disease diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes.

5. Global Young Editorial Board Recruitment

To further enhance the journal's quality and international academic influence, promote high-level academic exchange and innovative development in translational medicine, and fully leverage the important role of young scholars in research innovation and clinical translation, we are now globally recruiting members for the Young Editorial Board. We cordially invite outstanding young scholars with a solid academic foundation and development potential in relevant fields to join us in advancing the journal's high-quality development.

▎Eligibility

• Research field in medicine, translational medicine, AI medicine, biology, biomedical engineering, or other frontier disciplines
• Principally under 45 years of age, active in scientific research, with an international academic vision and innovative spirit
• Published no fewer than 2 papers with IF > 10 as first or corresponding author in the past 5 years; or cumulative citations exceeding 2,000; or holding the title of associate professor or associate researcher or above
• Familiar with the development of high-level journals domestically and internationally, and with the editorial and publishing process
• No academic ethics issues
• Eligible scholars may freely apply for the Young Editorial Board membership

▎Responsibilities

• Journal Promotion: Actively promote the journal at major domestic and international academic conferences, online reports, and other academic channels
• Academic Activities: Actively participate in Young Editorial Board meetings, coordinate and organize related activities with the editorial board, and co-host academic conferences with the journal
• Manuscript Invitation: Encourage open submissions, invite outstanding domestic and international scientists to contribute, and organize special-topic manuscripts
• Peer Review: Serve as an academic reviewer for the journal and undertake corresponding review responsibilities
• Tenure: 3 years, with a 1-year assessment period. Contributors with satisfactory performance will receive an electronic appointment letter at year-end. Renewal for the next term is determined based on overall contributions over the 3-year period
• Assessment: Participate in at least two of the above tasks and submit annual performance documentation. The editorial board conducts an annual review; outstanding members may receive electronic certificates or be renewed, and exceptionally outstanding members may be promoted to Editorial Board member or Executive Associate Editor

• Outstanding contributors may receive a Certificate of Excellence for Young Editorial Board Members (electronic version)
• Manuscripts submitted or recommended as first or corresponding author receive priority peer review and priority publication upon acceptance; members who pass the mid-year assessment are entitled to one free publication
• May assist the Editor-in-Chief in organizing annual conferences and online seminars
