This journal is a peer reviewed, fully open access journal owned by Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources retains copyright of the overall compiled journal and the compiled issues. The article is universally and freely accessible via the internet in perpetuity, in an easily readable format immediately after publication.
To provide open access, this journal has an open access fee (also known as an Article Processing Charge, APC) which needs to be paid by the authors or on their behalf e.g. by their research funder or institution. The open access publication fee for this journal is USD 1000, plus taxes. For all articles submitted before 31-Dec-2025, the article publication charge will be waived making it free to submit to the journal. The OA publishing fee shall be paid by the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Publishing Schedule
This journal is published bi-monthly per year, in February, April, June, August, October, and December respectively.
