SCOR-Tsinghua Best Paper Prize for Risk Sciences
Established at Tsinghua University by the SCOR Corporate Foundation for Science in support of the journal Risk Sciences, this prize is awarded annually to the best paper(s) published in the journal. Selections are based on the novelty, societal relevance, and significant contributions of the work to the literature. The final selection is made by an independent committee. Each year, a total of $6,000 is distributed among the winning paper(s), and certificates of recognition are also presented.
Ken Seng Tan Award in Risk Sciences
Established in memory of Professor Ken Seng Tan (1970–2023), this award recognizes outstanding interdisciplinary research across the broad field of risk sciences. It honors Professor Tan’s enduring legacy as a distinguished scholar in risk management, actuarial science, and quantitative finance, as well as his commitment to rigorous, integrative, and practically relevant research on complex risk challenges. Created to foster the development of the broader risk science community, the award is given annually to an exceptional risk-focused paper, regardless of the journal in which it was published. The selection is made by an independent committee appointed by the journal. The winner receives a prize of RMB 5,000 and a certificate of recognition.
Presentation
Both the SCOR-Tsinghua Prize and the Ken Seng Tan Award are presented annually at the Risk Sciences Annual Conference, where winners are invited to deliver plenary talks on their research.
