Call for abstracts: 2nd International Wheat Congress

The International Wheat Congress (IWC) is a combination of two international wheat conferences — the International Wheat Genetics Symposium and the International Wheat Conference. IWC is a biennial event and the 1st IWC was held in July 2019 in Saskatoon, Canada. The 2nd IWC was planned for 2021 in Beijing, but was delayed until 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The theme of the 2nd IWC is “Future Wheat: Resilience and Sustainability” and will provide excellent opportunities for participants from around the world to share the latest progress and to develop recommendations for future wheat in terms of research, technology and knowledge transfer.

Form and venue:
A combination of onsite presentation and online broadcasts will be adopted. The final decision of the venue of the congress will be announced in July 2022, due to the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

Call for abstracts:
The organisers of 2nd IWC invite abstracts from interested persons engaged in research, development, marketing, finance, export organisations and industries representing wheat. Abstracts will be evaluated by a group of eminent professionals for their suitability for oral/poster presentation. Authors are requested to specify the relevant thematic area in which the abstract needs to be considered.
There are two ways to submit your abstract:
- Register on the website of 2nd IWC and submit yourabstract online.
- Send your abstract byemail: 2ndiwc@caas.cn.
Both domestic and international participants will be invited to attend the 2nd IWC in Beijing onsite if international travel policies permit, otherwise participants will deliver oral and poster presentations online.
Important dates:
- Deadline for abstract submission: 30 April 2022
- Deadline for early registration: 10 June 2022
- Deadline for regular registration: 31 August 2022.
