Translational Dental Research (TDR; ISSN 2950-3485) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed open-access journal established in 2024. The journal is sponsored by Xi’an Jiaotong University, and co-organized by the Hospital of Stomatology Xi’an Jiaotong University, School of Life Science and Technology of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Periodicals Publishing House of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

TDR is the first specialized international journal dedicated to translational dental medicine. It aims to promote scientific research with clinical application and high translational value, and build a leading platform for advancing knowledge exchange among dental and clinical experts and scientists in basic medicine, science, engineering, humanities, and social sciences. TDR focuses on interdisciplinary research in the fields of stomatology, and science and engineering, including theoretical innovation, technological breakthroughs, research and development, and transformation achievements that drive advancements in dental science.

TDR welcomes submissions of basic research, applied research, and clinical research related to the technology, methods, drugs, consumables, instruments, and equipment in the field of dentistry. TDR also publishes analysis reports on policy supervision, development strategies and practical experience related to translational dental medicine.

TDR accepts a variety of article types, including but not limited to Research Paper, Review Paper, Short Communication, Case Report, Practice Guidelines, Consensus, Editorial, Opinion Paper, Perspective, Commentary, and Meta-analysis.
