Prof. Xigao Cheng, Member of the Party Committee at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, Director of the Orthopedic Department at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, President of Nanchang University Hospital, Director of Jiangxi Orthopedic Research Institute, and Director of the Jiangxi Key Laboratory for Spinal Cord System Diseases, is a distinguished Chief Physician, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Postdoctoral Mentor, honored with the Jiangxi Provincial Government Special Allowance. He holds prominent academic roles including Committee Member of the 12th Orthopaedic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Standing Committee Member of the SICOT China Chapter Orthopedic Professional Committee, Vice Chair of the Minimally Invasive & Intelligent Surgery Group under the Chinese Medical Association, and Chairman of the 9th Orthopaedic Surgery Branch of Jiangxi Medical Association.
Prof. Cheng has published 148 papers as first or corresponding author, including 72 high-impact SCI papers in international journals such as Bioactive Materials, Advanced Healthcare Materials, Journal of Nanobiotechnology, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Materials Today Bio, Frontiers in Immunology, Biomaterials Science, and European Spine Journal, with a cumulative impact factor of 346.08. He has led many major research projects as principal investigator, including 1 international collaborative project, 1 Central Government-Guided Local Science and Technology Development Fund Project, 1 National Health Commission Clinical Research Special Project, 4 National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) grants, 1 Jiangxi "Double Thousand Plan" project, 2 provincial key laboratory construction projects, 13 provincial/ministerial-level projects, and 16 industry-sponsored horizontal projects, while participating in 1 National Key Research and Development Program, securing total research funding exceeding 15 million CNY. His accolades include 1 Second Prize of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 First Prize of Jiangxi Medical Science and Technology Award, and 2 Third Prizes of Jiangxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. He holds 26 national patents (including 9 invention patents), contributed to 5 academic monographs, and translated 2 English academic works into Chinese. As a respected evaluator, he serves as an expert reviewer for the National Science and Technology Awards, NSFC grants, and provincial major research programs, and acts as an invited peer reviewer for journals such as Medical Science Monitor, Frontiers in Cell and Development Biology, Frontiers in Oncology, Frontiers in Surgery, Frontiers in Medicine, Chinese Journal of Orthopedic Surgery, and Practical Clinical Medicine.
