BAM Associate Editor Prof. Eben Alsberg wins TERMIS-AM’s 2022 Senior Scientist Award

We are proud to announce that one of Bioactive Materials Associate Editors, Prof. Eben Alsberg, was presented with the Senior Scientist Award at this year’s TERMIS-AM conference.

TERMIS is an international organisation that seeks to advance tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and patient outcomes worldwide.

TERMIS-AM is the organisation’s Americas branch, and at its annual conference and exhibition, held in July this year in Canada, the winners of the TERMIS-AM Awards were announced.

Prof. Eben Alsberg

Prof. Alsberg’s significant contributions to the tissue engineering and regenerative medicine field led to him being chosen as the winner in the Senior Scientist Award category. 

Prof. Alsberg holds the Richard and Loan Hill Chair in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, and Orthopaedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. He is also Director of the Alsberg Stem Cell and Engineered Novel Therapeutics (ASCENT) Laboratory, which focuses on engineering functional biologic replacements to repair damaged or diseased tissues in the body. He has co-authored over 145 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and his work has been recognised with awards from the Ellison Medical Foundation and the Tissue Engineering Society International. Prof. Alsberg is a Fellow of BMES and AIMBE.
