Establishing a Special Award to Recognize Research Excellence and Impact

Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (ENCECO) has launched the “ENCECO 2024–2025 Top Ten Most Influential Research Award”, a special honor established by the journal to encourage and promote outstanding research achievements. This award will recognize papers, including original research articles and reviews, officially published in ENCECO between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025.

Through this award, we aim not only to recognize scientists who have published excellent work in ENCECO, but also to send a clear message to environmental researchers worldwide: we value and are committed to promoting research that deeply understands environmental problems and actively seeks solutions.

Award Selection Criteria

Academic Excellence: The scientific originality, innovation, and rigor of the research.

Research Attention and Engagement: The level of readership, sharing, and discussion generated by the paper on the journal’s own platforms and social media channels, including the journal’s newly launched WeChat public account.

Societal Relevance: The urgency and relevance of the research topic to current global or regional environmental challenges (e.g., emerging pollutant control, carbon neutrality and pollution co-control, ecosystem health assessment), as well as the attention it generates beyond academia.

Potential for Impact: The potential or demonstrated value of the research for environmental policy, industry standards, or environmental remediation technologies.

Selection Process

The award selection will combine data analysis and expert evaluation. The journal's editorial office will conduct an initial screening based on dissemination data and academic evaluation from papers published by December 31, 2026. A review panel comprising members of the journal's editorial board will then conduct the final assessment.

Winning author teams will receive:

• Certificate of Honor. An official certificate signed by the journal's Editor-in-Chief.
• Full Article Processing Charge (APC) Waiver Voucher. A voucher waiving on the APC for one future publication in Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology (valid for one year.)

• Promotional Support: Winning papers will be featured in a permanent special column on the journal's website, along with in-depth interviews and special reports on the journal's WeChat public account and international media network.
