(Photo) electrochemical materials and devices have attracted great attention due to the increasing demand for clean, renewable and sustainable energy and technological solutions. A breakthrough in this area could lead to remarkable market recognition and rapid product development in fields such as electric vehicles, grid-scale energy storage systems, hydrogen economy and smart wearable devices. The rapid development of nanotechnology and nanomaterials has created new opportunities to explore the commercial capabilities and applications of (photo) electrochemical materials and devices.

This special issue will highlight outstanding research on all aspects of this important topic, with a focus on state-of-the-art developments and new trends.
