Currently, Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases has 15 departments, including the journal department, which publishes two peer-reviewed journals of Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control and Decoding Infection and Transmission. International academic exchanges and collaborations have been initiated since the founding of the institute, and the institute had received Institutional Strengthening Grants from WHO/TDR in 1988 and 1992. As a training center for China-aid programs approved by Ministry of Commerce, over 2000 healthcare officials and professionals from over 70 developing countries across the world have been trained for tropical and infectious diseases control since 2002. In addition, experiences from parasitic diseases control in this institute have been transferred to other endemic provinces in China as well as countries endemic for parasitic diseases along the Belt and Road Initiative.
