Introducing our new Editor-in-Chief

We are delighted to share that Professor Ya Yang has been appointed as our new Editor-in-Chief! He is actively involved in the journal’s activities and together, we are committed to elevating Materials Science for Energy Technologies into a high-quality journal in the field.

Professor Ya Yang

Prof. Ya Yang received his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Science and Technology Beijing, China. He is currently a professor at Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His main research interests focus on ferroelectric nanomaterials and devices, including pyroelectric, piezoelectric, triboelectric and thermoelectric nanogenerators for energy conversion, sensing and novel applications. Prof. Yang has developed various new hybridized and multi-effects coupled nanogenerators, unveiling new principles of device design and coupled effects, as well as new approaches of improving output performances of energy-related devices.

Prof. Yang has authored one book and over 200 SCI papers, which includes publications in Nature Energy, Nature Electronics and Joule. His research contributions have been cited by over 20,000 times with a H-index of 85. Additionally, he has applied for over 50 patents and was awarded the second prize in the National Natural Science Awards of China in 2018.

Beyond his academic achievements, Prof. Yang has organized international conferences on five occasions and delivered over 50 invited talks. His research results have been reported by various academic journals and medias including Nature Photonics, AAAS, The Guardian, Cell Press, ScienceDaily, Phys.org and Nanotechweb.org. He also serves as an editorial committee member for Nano-Micro Letters, InfoMat and several other journals. Details can be found here.
