Unconventional Resources (ISSN: 2666-5190) is a high-quality golden open access journal published by KeAi. The editors-in-chief are Dr. Barry Katz from Chevron, USA, and Professor Dameng Liu, Vice President of China University of Geosciences (Beijing).
Since launched in 2020, UR has been indexed by many major international databases such as Directory of Open Access Journals, Chemical Abstracts, EBSCOhost, GeoRef, GEOBASE, INSPEC, NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS), and Scopus. In June 2024, it received its first official CiteScore of 4.1.
To ensure the sustainable development of the journal and provide a global platform for young scholars, the two editors-in-chief extend a sincere invitation to young researchers worldwide: welcome to apply to become the young editorial board members of UR!
Messages from the Editors-in-Chief
Regarding this recruitment, we want to say:
Candidates should meet the following qualifications and qualities:
- Hold a Ph.D. and be under 45 years of age;
- Possess an academic background in the field of unconventional resources (unconventional oil and gas resources; geothermal, hydrogen, solar, helium, CCUS, and other non-hydrocarbon energy resources; applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning) with a deep understanding of the latest developments in the field;
- Have published high-level papers as the first author or corresponding author in the field of unconventional resources;
- Demonstrate a strong interest in the editing and publishing of scientific journals and be willing to contribute to enhancing the quality and impact of the journal;
- Possess team spirit and good communication and coordination skills, able to collaborate with team members to promote the journal’s development.
Selected candidates will assume the following responsibilities (not limited to the following and may change with journal development trends):
- Actively participate in the planning and selection of journal content;
- Engage in academic exchanges and collaborations, attracting more high-quality submissions and partners for the journal;
- Assist in promoting and publicizing the journal, enhancing its visibility and influence.

- Issuance of a Youth Editorial Board Member Certificate;
- Inclusion of personal information in the Editorial Board list on the journal’s official websites (KeAi & SD);

Applicants will be carefully selected, and successful candidates will receive an appointment letter for a two-year term as a young editorial board member, with the possibility of consecutive appointments. Young editorial board members who make outstanding contributions to the journal may be considered for promotio to positions such as UR editorial board member and associate editor, etc.
