Special Issue on blockchain and web 3.0

Published 17 September, 2022

Introduction:

In recent years, blockchain, together with artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT),  has become an emerging technology for many applications that deeply change our daily lives. For example, together they are becoming one of the most important underlying approaches for providing security and privacy protection for web 3.0, the latest web development paradigm. In particular, the autonomous organisation of blockchain has provided a groundbreaking decentralised social protocol for the next generation of web services.

In this special issue, we aim to thoroughly investigate the novel solutions for advanced security and privacy protection methods for intelligent blockchain and web 3.0. We seek manuscripts that explore novel threat detection and protection from the hardware level to the intelligent algorithm level. Submissions should consider novel attacks, defences and verification schemes for web 3.0 using emerging techniques.

Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Novel architecture of blockchain and web 3.0
  • Novel operation approaches for blockchain and web 3.0
  • Novel theories, concepts and paradigms of blockchain and web 3.0
  • New verification and validation methods for blockchain and web 3.0
  • A new consensus model for blockchain and web 3.0
  • A new trust model for blockchain and web 3.0
  • Security-enhancing technologies in blockchain and web 3.0
  • Novel adversarial attacks in blockchain and web 3.0
  • Emerging data privacy issues in blockchain and web 3.0
  • Novel decentralisation and blockchain technologies
  • New token-based economics and non-fungible tokens
