Earthquake Science (EQS) aims to publish high-quality, original, peer-reviewed articles on earthquake-related research subjects. It is an English journal sponsored by the Seismological Society of China and the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration.
The topics include, but not limited to, the following

- Earth structure at all scales.
- Seismotectonics.
- New methods and theoretical seismology.
- Strong ground motion.
- Seismic phenomena of all kinds.
- Seismic hazards, earthquake forecasting and prediction.

Society affiliation
Seismological Society of China (SSC) was founded in 1979. It is a voluntary association of Chinese seismologists with the main aims at earthquake science, earthquake prevention and disaster reduction in China. IGPCEA is dedicated to research fields of earthquake occurrence, earthquake mechanism, earthquake disaster forecasting, and engineering application, aiming at basic and applied research related to Geophysics. It has been strategically focused on seismology, physics of the Earth's interior, geomagnetism, engineering seismology. It hosts two field bases and one national experiment site. In recent years, IGPCEA has been the lead institution on the "Transparent Crust" initiative of the National Earthquake Science and Technology Innovation Project on the construction of China Seismic Experimental Site.
