Advancement in Biosensing Technology

Published 18 May, 2023

Introduction:

In recent decades, the increased demand for biosensors has triggered the creation of an array of innovative devices. Wearable sensors, implantables and lab-on-a-chip systems are being developed to support an array of applications such as healthcare, environmental monitoring and food safety. Technologies such as nanotech, wearable tech and miniaturization have further advanced these devices and opened new pathways for diagnosis and monitoring to become more integrated into our lives. These multifarious approaches have laid the foundation for revolutionizing diagnostics and biosensing globally.

This Special Issue aims to provide an extensive collection of approaches and strategies that have been pursued in this direction, highlighting the advantages, limitations and current challenges.

Authors are invited to contributes both original research articles and reviews covering a broad range of technical solutions related to biosensing technology including, but not limited to:

  • Healthcare and life science diagnosis
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Food technology, safety and security
  • Wearable sensing device
  • Microfluidics device
  • Microbial-based sensor
  • Nanocarbon-based sensor
  • Micro-3D Printing, Nano-Fabrication and Smart Manufacturing
  • Solar Power Generation, Desalination and Water Splitting
