Nanomaterials have attracted great attention in recent years due to their unique structural and electronic properties, morphologies, and chemical stability. Functional materials based sensing devices are becoming attractive tools for the detection of a variety of targets due to high sensitivity, selectivity, functionality, and stable sensing platforms. They are the suitable replacement for traditional detection technologies, providing reliable and rapid results at an affordable cost. Hence, such advanced sensing platforms have been used in the wide areas of science and industries, making one of the hottest research topics of the present time. This special issue, based on functional materials and their composite,s will boost the interest of experts working in materials chemistry to synthesize novel functional materials and their nanocomposite to design advanced sensing platforms. Another aim of this special issue is to prepare low-cost, sustainable, stable, miniaturized, and disposable sensing platforms for point-of-care applications. This is an interdisciplinary field which will attract the attention of chemists, biochemists, microbiologists and a diverse scientific community.
This special issue aims to promote high-quality original contributions falling into the following categories will be considered for publication: We invite submissions of original research papers, review articles, short communications, and editorials.
