Shirong Liu is the chief research scientisit working in Forest Ecology and Ecohydrology at the Ecology and Conservation Institute, Chinese Academy of Forestry. He is also a vice president of IUFRO and Forestry Society of China, the immediate past president of Ecological Society of China. His current research focuses on forest ecosystem nutrient cycling and productivity, forest landscape restoration, forest ecosystem management, watershed eco-hydrology, forest carbon sequestration and forest adaptation to climate change.
