Special Issue: Advances in quality and safety control of fruits and vegetables throughout supply chain

Postharvest loss, food safety and decrease in quality are the main concerns in the fruits and vegetables supply chain. To that end, improved understanding of postharvest physiology, pathology, biochemistry and microbiology have been achieved to control the quality and safety of fruits and vegetables during distribution.

This special issue invites authors to submit high-quality and original research or reviews in the innovative technology applications in the field for publication.

• Quality and safety attributes and changes of fruits and vegetables
• Physiological, biochemical and molecular aspects of fruits and vegetables
• Biotic and abiotic factors involved with spoilage of fruits and vegetables
• Nutritional composition and changes of fruits and vegetables
• Improving quality and safety of fruits and vegetables by using physical, chemical and biological treatments
• Novel packaging techniques to improve quality and safety of fruits and vegetables
• Destructive and non-destructive detection and evaluation of quality and safety of fruits and vegetables
