Professor Qi-Huang Gong is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a member of the World Academy of Sciences. He is a Cheung Kong Professor of Physics and a Boya Chair Professor at Peking University, where he is the Founding Director of the Institute of Modern Optics. He also serves as the President of Peking University. His current research interests are in ultrafast optics and nonlinear optics, as well as mesoscopic optical devices for applications in optical information processing and communication. He is the Vice President of the International Commission for Optics, the President of the Chinese Optical Society, the Vice President of the Chinese Physical Society, a fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA), and a fellow of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) & Institute of Physics (IoP). He was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Fundamental Research in 2021.
