Samer Adeeb is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta. He is an expert in finite element analysis for structural engineering applications including pipelines and biomechanics. Before joining the university, he worked in the pipeline industry for one of the major Canadian pipeline companies in design and integrity of pipelines. Since joining the university in 2007, he has maintained a large research group focusing on the mechanics of pipelines with multiple industry collaborations. His research focuses on tensile strain capacity, compressive strain capacity, reliability and pipeline mechanical integrity. He has obtained a number of research and teaching awards.
