OIL CROP SCIENCE (OCS) is a quarterly journal sponsored by the Oil Crops Research Institute (OCRI), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) (OCRI-CAAS). It publishes high-quality, novel research on oil-bearing plants such as rapeseed, soybean, peanut, sesame, sunflower, oil flax, safflower, castor bean, and other woody oil plants such as oil-tea camellia and oil palm. Fundamental articles may provide new insight into any aspects of oil crops, including biotechnology, genetics and breeding, germplasm resources, physiology and biochemistry, cultivation, tillage, plant protection, plant nutrition, soil and fertilization, oil detection and quality inspection, lipid chemistry and nutrition, functional oil processing, etc. The journal also publishes short communication and review papers.

OCS is an OPEN ACCESS international journal. It is indexed in the Scopus, DOAJ, CABI, FSTA, CSCD, WANFANG DATA, VIP, and CNKI databases. OCS provides many author benefits, such as open access in ScienceDirect in order to ensure the highest possible public exposure; fast, quality peer-review; easy online submission; and publication within 3 to 6 months.
